Hoa Phat Steel JSC selects TMT to equip their two new Blast Furnaces in Dung Quat with modern casthouse machines


After having already selected TMT as supplier for casthouse machines for two Blast Furnaces in Hai Duong and for the four existing Blast Furnaces in Dung Quat, Hoa Phat opted again for modern TMT tapping equipment to equip the two new Blast Furnaces that will form the centre of the of the future Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Complex II.

The two new Blast Furnaces will supply the new Steel Complex II in Dung Quat with a projected output of up to 5.6 Mtpy of hot metal, which allows the Vietnamese steel maker to double its hot metal production in Dung Quat.

The high reliability and performance of the TMT Casthouse Machines on the Blast Furnaces BF 1, BF 2, BF 3 and BF 4 at Dung Quat, as well as the excellent collaboration between the teams of Hoa Phat and TMT in the recent years have contributed to an expansion of the partnerhip.

The latest order comprises a total of 6 pcs. high-performance clay guns, 6 pcs. full-hydraulic drilling machines, 4 pcs. hydraulic power units and 4 pcs. electronic control systems, that will allow for an automated operation of the equipment.

The machines, which will be specifically designed to make best use of the available space on the castfloor, while ensuring safe and user friendly operation, will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2023.

When both of the two new furnaces will be running in 2024, Hoa Phat will operate a total 32 TMT Casthouse Machines in their plants in Dung Quat and Hai Duong.
