First delivery and successful commissioning of the DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN) as a virtual training tool for a combined TMT Tapping Machine
Less than 6 months have passed from the idea to successful implementation and we are delighted to have successfully put our latest innovation DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN) into operation in close cooperation with our German customer. The feedback we got from their machine operators after a three-day training course was consistently positive.
DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN) can be used to perform tests early, even before the physical machine is completed and before commissioning. The 3D CAD model of the machine is converted into a dynamic digital model and connected to the original machine control system. The digital twin is operated by using a copy of the original controls in the same way as the physical machine.
By means of the DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN) the PLC programme can be tested at an early project stage in the office. Customer’s benefit is that time-consuming and costly test runs at manufacturer's workshop and commissioning times on site are reduced to a minimum.
Machine operators or new employees get familiar with the functions and operation of the machine in a safe training environment. Damage caused by possible operating errors is excluded and risk is minimized. Both trouble-free operation and a malfunction scenario can be simulated and trained. In malfunction mode, different malfunctions are randomly generated, analysed and resolved by the operator by means of the DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN).
In addition to operator training, the DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN) can be used for system training of the maintenance personnel. The programming implementation of the machine functions is trained using animated hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams. Switching positions of valves, ramps, setpoints and other features are attractively visualized and thus provide a deeper understanding of the system making troubleshooting easier in the event of a malfunction.
In case changes or optimizations of the PLC programme are requested by customer after taking over of the machine ready for operation these can also be simulated by means of the DIGITAL TWIN (TMTWIN) and, after successful testing, imported into the original machine control system.
TMT is proud of the successful and rapid introduction of this innovative technology realized by a dedicated TMT team in constructive cooperation.
