"Maintenance and Modernization of TMT Equipment for Blast Furnaces" at RSP

A three-day workshop on "Maintenance and Modernization of TMT Equipment for Blast Furnaces" took place from November 20 to 22, 2024, at the Central Power Training Institute (CPTI) of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Approximately 40 participants, including executives from RSP, Bhilai Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant, Bokaro Steel Plant, and IISCO Steel Plant, attended the workshop.<o:p></o:p>

The workshop provided technical insights and best practices for maintaining, refurbishing, and modernizing of TMT equipment including the presentation of new developments for the current and upcoming alternative iron-making technologies / green steel solutions.<o:p></o:p>

The interactive workshop sessions supported by the site visit was the ideal platform to provide SAIL and TMT representatives the opportunity to foster knowledge exchange and working together. <o:p></o:p>

Further, SAIL and TMT concluded the workshop to initiate the next steps for expanding the given spare parts MOU to servicing “Make in India”.<o:p></o:p>
