Overhaul of slewing/lifting systems of 2 TMT Clay Guns/Taphole Openers for a German customer

Our German customer placed an order for overhaul of parts of TMT tapping equipment.

The particular challenge was to complete overhaul of machine parts within the very tight time window (from removal at customer's site to delivery of the machine) since blast furnace shutdown was already fixed at order placement. The challenge of the narrow time schedule combined with many interfaces required a particularly close and direct communication between our customer and the TMT project team. The hydraulic lines for supply of the drill hammer were completely replaced by a maintenance-friendly and less error-prone energy chain. In addition, conversion to modern "state of the art" sensor technology is worth mentioning.

Delivery could take place on time in October this year. Assembly will be carried out with the support of TMT supervising personnel so that the machines can be put back into operation by the end of 2023.
