Laiwu Steel, a member of Shandong Iron and Steel Group Co Ltd, is planning a new integrated steel plant consisting of two new Blast Furnaces with working volume of approx. 3.800 m3 each at Laiwu District of Jinan City. The furnaces will be supplied by Shandong Province Metallurgical Engineering Corporation on EPC basis.
At the beginning of the year 2020 TMT received the contract for supply of 2 x 4 nos. of full hydraulic taphole openers. The openers will be equipped with TMT´s latest state-of-the-art hammer technology - the full hydraulic drill hammer type TMT-BBG HS 600.
This innovation offers the advantage of switching between a high impact frequency mode and a high impact energy mode either in fully automatic operation or in manual mode. Laiwu Steel will be the 5th TMT customer worldwide using this most advanced hammer technology specially developed for blast furnace casthouse applications.
The first blast furnace will be blown in already in the first half of 2021 followed by the second furnace in 2022.
By adding this next very important reference TMT is in the position to foster its market share for medium and large sized blast furnaces in the Far East Asia region.
